Summary of this page

Dr Katharine McGregor-Wood is a Consultant Physician and Geriatrician. She completed her medical training at the University of Bristol, UK, and worked as a doctor in London before moving to Australia where she completed her basic physician training and specialist geriatrics training at the Prince of Wales and St George Hospitals. She is employed as a staff specialist at St George Hospital and is an Honorary Staff Specialist at the Prince of Wales.

Dr McGregor-Wood has been involved in research in delirium at the Prince of Wales and enjoys teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medicine. She has admitting rights to St George Private, Hurstville Private, Waratah and the Eastern Suburbs Private hospitals and has private rooms in the Hurstville Heart Centre and Suite 20, level 7 at the Prince of Wales Private.

Dr McGregor-Wood is passionate about the holistic care of older people and advocates healthy aging and independent living in the community. She focuses on the goals of the person and recognises the value in involving and supporting family members throughout the care of their loved ones.

What to expect at your consultation

During your consultation, Dr McGregor-Wood will complete a comprehensive and holistic assessment which will take a little over an hour. This will include a review your past medical history, medications and current health concerns. She encourages you to bring a carer or relative with you.

Please bring with you the following:-

  • A list of current medications
  • Any recent investigations including blood tests and brain imaging
  • A health summary from your GP
